THE SHORT, HUMAN VERSION
privacy, without the fog.
This is a personal blog, not an advertising network. It collects only what is needed to publish the site, understand what gets read, and send emails people explicitly requested.
Emails and subscribers
When you subscribe, your email address, consent date, subscription tier, and signup date are stored. If the site recognizes your subscriber session, it may also record which published entries you have read so it can show unread posts and basic subscriber activity. Your email is not sold or shared for advertising.
Cookies and local storage
A first-party subscriber cookie contains a random token—not your email or password—so the server can recognize your browser. It is HttpOnly, uses SameSite=Lax, and is sent only over HTTPS in production. A separate random browser identifier may be stored locally to prevent repeat views and reactions from being counted as different people.
Anonymous analytics
Anonymous page views may include the page visited, approximate location, referrer, device type, browser, and operating system. These statistics help understand overall readership and are not used to build advertising profiles. Anonymous visits cannot reliably be attached to a named subscriber.
Comments and desk notes
Anything submitted as a comment or guestbook note may be displayed publicly after moderation. Leave the name field blank if you prefer to remain anonymous.
Delete or correct your data
You can request access, correction, or deletion through the desk-note form. Begin the note with “PRIVATE DATA REQUEST” and do not include sensitive information in the note; it will be held for review rather than published. A verification step may be required before private data is changed or removed.
Security
Administrative pages require authenticated access, private database operations run on the server, and public submission endpoints are rate-limited. No website can promise absolute security, but reasonable technical safeguards are used and data collection is intentionally limited.
